Chris Silva is an attorney at Demeo LLP with more than 20 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, creditors’ rights matters and lease disputes. He has represented clients in the financial services, pharmaceutical and commercial services industries before various state and federal courts as well as private arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Silva has briefed and argued several appellate matters before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Mr. Silva began his legal career at Edwards & Angell LLP, now known as Locke Lord LLP. He later joined Goodwin Procter LLP as counsel, overseeing the eDiscovery functions of the litigation department. Mr. Silva’s substantial expertise in the field of electronic discovery, including hands-on experience with the sophisticated artificial intelligence-based tools and methods that are increasingly dominating the field, allows him to identify the mix of technology, personnel and workflow best suited to a matter and efficiently guide clients through the discovery phase of litigation while avoiding unnecessary costs or delays.

He graduated magna cum laude from Suffolk University Law School, where he was a member of the Suffolk University Law Review and the Tax Moot Court Team. He also won Jurisprudence Awards in both Civil Procedure and Basic Income Tax. During summers in law school, Mr. Silva interned with U.S. Magistrate Judge Marianne Bowler (D. Mass.), and with the U.S. Attorney’s Office (D. Mass.). At Boston University, Mr. Silva earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in finance and marketing.

Mr. Silva is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Maine as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States District courts for the districts of Massachusetts and Maine, and the United States Supreme Court.
